Interior Finishing

PREPARATION

Actual painting is only part of the job. We first meticulously prepare every surface prior to applying paint, stain, varnish or whatever the product might be. We sand every inch of your walls, ceiling and trim. Then we ensure that every crack in your trim is caulked with high quality, high flexibility caulking and every hole is filled. Your walls and ceiling will be checked over with high wattage light bulbs to reveal all the imperfections and each imperfection will be repaired. Upon entering a job before we take a room apart we take pictures of each item to make sure that when we put the room back together everything from the biggest piece of furniture to the smallest little ornament is put back exactly the way we found it. While we are taking a room apart we take great care in moving your furniture, taking your pictures off the walls, laying anything down that may get knocked over and covering everything in the room with high quality plastic to ensure it stays safe from dust or paint and the floors with drop sheets.

CUSTOM COLOUR MATCHING

One of our specialties is the lost art of custom colour matching. This process was passed down to us from our  great great grandfather from the days when all paint colours had to be mixed on site. As a result we can precisely match any paint colour.

STAINING

Our crew offers a combined experience of more than 168 years of custom match staining. Whether its staining new wood or striping and staining existing wood we are experts in taking any wood surface and transforming it to exactly the stain colour that you want.

VARNISH STAINING

Varnish staining is a specialized process where we add colour to varnish to change the appearance of existing stained wood surfaces. It’s a very specialized art that requires a lot of knowledge and experience. The benefit is that we can avoid striping wood surfaces therefor saving you mess and money. Any existing stained wood surfaces can be changed to a darker colour and can be custom matched to surrounding existing stain colours.

SPRAYING

If a sprayed factory finish is what you’re after then we offer that as well. Depending on the job we can spray in shop or on site anything from cabinets to trim to furniture. Our products offer an extremely hard and durable finish.

CLEANING

Once we complete a job we make sure that floors are cleaned, surfaces are dusted and all garbage is removed from your property. You will be able to resume using your space after we are gone without lifting a finger.

Basements, Sheds

and Garages

One of the specific services we like to offer because of the way it completely transforms a space is spraying your basement, garage or shed. Especially on older home these areas don’t typically have drywall up and can be pretty dark and dirty spaces. What we offer is to come in and relatively quickly spray all surfaces between studs, between floor joists, and behind utilities like ducting etc. Everything that shouldn’t be painted is taped off and after the spraying is done we cut and roll the floors with high quality Benjamin Moore porch and floor paint. The result for our customers is a space that, is clean, much brighter and easier to clean. In a lot of cases  previous bad odours  are gone as well. This process will completely change any unfinished space into an inviting, usable area.

Wallpaper

Another specialized service we provide is wallpaper installation. A lot of companies have stopped installing wallpaper altogether but it’s a service that we have never stopped providing. We have a very thorough knowledge of every kind of wallpaper imaginable and have been trusted with papers ranging from $150 per sheet all the way up to $2000 per sheet. Our combined experience installing wallpaper is 70 years and plan on providing this service for many decades to come.

Exterior Finishing

PREPARATION

Depending on the condition of the job or customer request we will first power wash the entire exterior. If we encounter mould or mildew we apply special products to kill any growth prior to power washing. Once the surfaces to be painted are clean we scrape back any peeling paint and sand every square inch. Then we caulk and fill all the major cracks and holes. While we are preparing all the surfaces we inspect for damaged areas that are beyond repair and will arrange for replacement of the damaged areas. Given our meticulous preparation of your exterior job you can rest assured that the investment you made into your paint job will last a long time.

SIDING

Many people don’t realize that you can paint any type of siding whether it be aluminum, vinyl or hardy board. Given the proper preparation a paint job over many different sidings will last a very long time. When most people learn this fact it becomes the only option they consider because of how transformative it is of your entire exterior at a fraction the cost of replacing siding.

BRICK

We paint brick as well. A lot of companies are out there right now advertising sprayed exterior finishes but we recommend rolling brick. It takes longer to roll but spraying doesn’t work into all the grooves, cracks, nooks and crannies nearly the same way that using a heavy nap roller over multiple coats will. On brick we only ever use 35 mm heavy nap rollers and the highest quality Benjamin Moore exterior paint to extend the longevity to its fullest potential.

WINDOWS AND DOORS

Whether it be wood, vinyl or aluminum cladding your windows and doors given the proper preparation can be painted and transformed to any colour you want just like your siding. We have customers that ordered brand new windows, didn't like the colour of the pre-finish and were very relieved and surprised to hear that they can be painted to such a high standard. If your windows are in good condition but perhaps only faded or an outdated colour then don’t replace them, paint them at a fraction of the cost.

CLEANING

After finishing your exterior, we will sweep all hard surfaces and rake lawns and gardens to pick up paint scrapings that our drop sheets might have missed. All garbage will be removed from your property.

Railing Systems

One of our highly specialized services is refinishing old out dated railing systems. Using the process of varnish staining we can transform all the stained wood surfaces into a modern stain colour and match any surrounding colour you want. All the wood that is appropriate to paint on your system is first treated with the highest quality primer ensuring maximum adhesion and durability over the old varnish and then finished with perfect lines against the newly varnished stained wood. If striping your railing system and starting from scratch is what you prefer then we are well versed in that process as well. Either way you decide it will still be a fraction of the cost when compared to replacing your system altogether.

Kitchen Refinishing

and Refacing

Another one of our specialties is painting or re-surfacing kitchens. If you like your kitchen but want an update to the colour or just a fresh paint job then we can do that. We remove all your doors, drawers, removable crown mould, and valences. Then while those items are getting sprayed in the shop, another crew will be painting all the remaining surfaces on site. If you prefer to replace your doors and drawers we’ll take care of that process as well. We’ll measure, order, paint and arrange for the installation of all brand new doors and drawers with the profile and finish of your choosing. All of our kitchens are primed with the absolute best primer and finishing paint to unsure maximum durability and longevity. The result of both options will be a brand new looking kitchen and our price compared with the cost of replacement is a fraction.

Drywall Taping

Last but not least we have recently started a taping division. We can now provide a high quality reliable taping service. This was a perfect addition to our company and are happy to provide this for our customers.
